Feeding time

I love watching animals and birds munching. They always look so pleased with themselves.

This great crested grebe emerged from the lake with a massive fish in its beak. I'm convinced the grebe is smiling. In the next moment it tossed back its head and swallowed the large fish whole.

Berries are always popular for both birds and animals

The female blackbird has found a veritable feast of Rowan berries and the grey squirrel is tucking into some juicy Hawthorn berries.

For the youngsters some assistance is required.

I was watching some swallows in Northumberland when the mother returned much to the joy of the youngster. It was a great moment to capture; however, the distance and speed of the action resulted in a less than perfect image. I still love it though!
